Insane: `in a state of mind which prevents normal perception, behavior, or social interaction` So insanity is just a state of being “Less Than Whole”.
This is part of the truth about the disease of alcoholism. We have to stand in the light of our decisions. And, we need to concede that we are powerless over alcohol.
We are sober before that first drink and knowing how we will behave after the first drink is the insanity. We can make ourselves insane for wanting to, or actually taking, that first drink. That is why we need the vital spiritual experience.
We cannot delude ourselves that this obsession will go away. It will always be there, waiting for us to believe it’s lie. This is not fake news; ‘Once an alcoholic, always and alcoholic’ – Charlie P.
